Food: the BIG Issue

The big issue to Americans: the economy. Second: the war(s). The big issue for the world: food prices.

One day soon the food price issue will hit American shores. Not that I expect to see Somalia on the Mississippi; but, I do expect the causal relationship between such companies as ADM, such movements as the aggie lobby, such unforgivable choices as the USA's heavy subsidization of corn based ethanol and this global disaster. That may sound like a long way for cause to travel, but it is direct.

I will be covering this in more detail in the coming weeks and with luck people will start to take notice.

Wow, it's been a while

Time to get started again. I haven't been writing simply because I could not get into the fray. The US Democratic Party is running two people with almost identical platforms and news cycles are filled with inane comments about friends of candidates. Of correctly describing out of work folks who are losing their homes as bitter (instead of the preferred, "hopeful"). Crazy.
